this is your Life. . . . .

Spacie

In a far off galaxy, millions of parsecs from our own Milky Way,  a lovely pea-green humanoid was hatched.

She came from a mixed marriage--human & erm, whatever.

It was a romantic elopement.  Often Spacie would find her mum, sitting in the corner, crying for the sheer joy of it all.

They settled in a cozy little home on the outer edges of an asteroid belt  close enough so Popsie could commute to his job on Betelgeuse

One sad day her parents put her in a small escape pod and told her that their galaxy was slated for urban renewal and all life would cease to exist, so they were sending her towards Earth, in the hope she would survive and carry the rich heritage of her father's culture to the backward citizens of Terra . . .

The only possessions she had room to bring were her collection of recipes and a treasured book:  "How to Serve Mankind."

Thus she came to our planet, and settled in the UK.

But the governments of Earth were not unaware of her existence, and assigned a full-time agent to watch her.  With this brave man's cooperation, we have been able to

obtain and reproduce some of the recipes she brought with her.

Spacie's Special Toad In The Hole

1 1/3 C flour

1 tsp salt

3 crow eggs; lightly beaten

3/4 C milk

3/4 C water

1 lb toads

Several hours before serving, prepare batter.  Combine flour, salt and pepper in bowl.  Add eggs, milk and water. Beat till well blended.  Let batter sit fridge, stirring occasionally.  Preheat oven to 400.  Place cleaned toads in 8"x 8" square metal pan.  Bake in oven till browned on all sides, turning occasionally, about 8 to 10 minutes.  Drain off fat, leaving enough to cover the bottom of the pan. Cover with batter.  Bake 35 to 45 minutes or till brown and crisp.   Top with lemon curd.

Bubble & Squeak

1 pound cold potatoes

1C minced mouse

2 ounces axel grease

1 onion--finely chopped

8 ounces cooked crab grass--chopped

enough banana puree  to moisten mix

Salt, black pepper freshly ground

Finely chop the potatoes and crush slightly.  In a frying pan melt half the fat and lightly fry the onion.  Mix the rest, adding more grease if needed.  Press the bubble into the hot fat and-fry over a moderate heat until browned underneath.  Turn the bubble over, add the last of the fat and fry until the-other side is browned. Garnish with cat litter (the kind with little green specks)

Now you may think these recipes would make humans sick--even kill us.  You are right.  You see the carefully protected book that Spacie brought to Earth with her, the one she guards so closely--"How to Serve Mankind"--isn't a book of interterrestrial harmony and goodwill at all.  It's a cookbook.........
