this is your Life. . . . .

desmond

What can one say about Desmond?  Well, on a G-rated page anyway.................Witty? Urbane? Cosmopolitan?   A craftsman, an inventor, a musician, a poet.  Few know however, the man behind the man.   Now for the first time--all his secrets revealed!  Des is NOT British!

He came into this world in the mid 20th century, born  the love-child of a rich Texas rancher (who must remain nameless for security reasons) and the daughter of a Dutch dyke keeper (which explains the penchant for windmills no doubt).

Des ( "lil buckaroo", as his father called him), grew up in a small cabin on the outskirts of his father's ranch.  There his mother and he scraped out a meager existence.   To this day, Des remains a master of meager.

Always one to turn life to his advantage, Desmond began cultivating his many talents and interests amid the wide-open spaces of his childhood.

He attended a fine school that nurtured his love of learning.

He developed his sophisticated palate.

He learned the joys of social intercourse and the pleasant camaraderie of being with his peers.

He became a musician of virtuoso caliber.

He developed diplomatic skills,   and learned to appreciate and enjoy the modest charms of female companionship.

He studied the classics, and grew to appreciate the solitude that every great writer must seek.

In the bloom of young manhood--educated and polished, Desmond even began to dream of the day when he would be recognized as his father's son.  But alas, it was not to be.........

An usurper came along, and Des was no longer the favored, albeit a woods colt, son and potential heir.

Thus Desmond moved to the UK and began life anew under another name.  But sometimes, late at night, his neighbors can hear a  muffled "Yippy ti-i-ay" coming from his back garden............
